Charlie had been on the Gryffindor House Quidditch team since his second year, beginning as a reserve Seeker. Before the year was out, however, the Captain had granted him the first-string spot over a fifth-year veteran who had never really forgiven him. He’d never been quite as brilliant at his studies as Bill had; the only subject in which he really excelled was Care of Magical Creatures with Professor Kettleburn. He shared Hagrid’s love of fantastic beasts, and the bigger the better. He could never quite understand how Bill found Ancient Runes and Arithmancy so fascinating; to Charlie, they were a load of abstract nonsense he could never quite wrap his brain around. He had to be able to see and touch what he was studying for it to make sense. Quidditch made a lot of sense. He had eaten, slept, and breathed it since he was old enough to understand the rules.

And now he was Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He’d waited years for the honor, for all the older players to graduate, and now, in his final year at Hogwarts, it was finally his. He hated to admit it even to himself, but he was terrified. Absolutely scream-your-guts-out terrified. With every passing second he could feel his self-control slipping further away. He couldn’t shake the ominous feeling that when the whistle blew on Saturday he might just pass out.

Gryffindor’s name had been on the coveted Cup for the last four years, and if it was Slytherin’s this year, Charlie was going to dive himself down to the bottom of the lake. He hadn’t realized it was so much pressure, being Captain. If they lost . . . If he let everyone down . . .

But he shouldn’t worry, he told himself. His team was close-knit and confident, a small army of smart players that wasn’t afraid to try something absolutely crazy if the situation called for it. They’d worked damn hard the last few months, and he was fiercely proud of them. They were quite a group.

Charlie was lieing on his bed wide awake. He hadn't slept in three days. His mind was on other things- like the snitch and the up comming House Cup in four days. Charlie was tierd as so much as his body was physically exuasted. He wanted to win so bad he could taste it. He had thought about plays and actions and sertian moves he could teach to his Team before the match agaisnt Slythrine. And that left him un-sleapy.

Finnally seeing the sun peek across the hills he decided he could finnaly get out of his bed where he spent another sleepless night. He got dressed quickly and tried not to notice the small bags under his eyes as he walked out of his 7th year dorm leaving his sleeping roomates and friends. He ran a hand through his shaggy messy hair to tierd to care about it.

He walked through the empty common room and through the silent morning halls. Charlie knew them well enough that he thought he could walk them with his eyes closed- he was head boy after all. Sitting down at the Gryffindor table, Charlie started to pick at food a little to uneasy to eat yet. He was thinking about the match constantly still. He couldnt seem to chase it away from his thoughts. He sighed as he stuck a grape in his mouth.

Keely Summers lay in her bed staring up at the ceiling. She was nervous about the next game. They were having to play Gryffindor and she knew her team was no where near ready. Sighing she climbed out of her bed and walked over to the window. staring outside she thought back to the days when she had first started playing Quidditch:

Keely had been a young third year obbsessed with quidditch and everything about it. After hours she could normally have been found flying around the quidditch pitch at night. Oft times, she had even fallen asleep on the grass. She would work so hard on practicing that when she was done she would curl up on the bench and sleep. Then the next morning she would always have to rush back inside before she got caught. It was on one of those nights that she had gotten recruited for the Hufflepuff team.

She had been doing her normal routine of flying around the pitch speeding after a look alike snitch for hours. The sun was just about to come up and she was just too tired to go back to her own dorms, to her bed. She had curled up on the bench and when she had awoken the captain of the Hufflepuff team had been standing in front of her. She had jumped up maknig apologies and then started rushing out, when he had stopped her and asked if she wanted a spot on the team. Of course she would have to try out first, but Keely had jumped at the chance.

Apparently she had done good at that try-out because the next game she was in for their seeker who had gotten sick, and she was still playing even now as a seventh year. She was now captain of the team, and she was very proud of her title. Sometimes she felt she wasn't worthy to be the captain. Since she had taken over they had won a little more than half of their games and they were going after the house cup now. Shaking her head from her thoughts she walked over to her trunk and quickly got dressed. When you were restless, what else could you do besides do something?

She walked outside the common room and walked slowly down the stairs. She was heading towards the great hall to grab a bite to eat before she found a way to work her restlessness away. Walking into the Great Hall, she looked around. Kelly didn't really expect to find many people here but she also didn't expect to find it almost completly deserted either. She saw one person that she knew at least some what. Walking over to him she sat beside him, not caring that it wasn't her table.

"'Lo Charlie.."

"Hey, how's it going?"

Charlie smiled at her glad he wasnt alone and started to pick through some food tasting a little bit of everything. Charlie watched as Kelly nibled on some fruit at the breakfast table. They had to be the earlest people there- but Charlie didnt care, he felt like it and he was starving. He then put some purple stuff on his plate. He started to put some in his mouth when that disgustin taste hit him hard and strong. He gaged and spit it out into his hand than dumped it on Kelly's plate. He didnt want that on his own. Charlie wiped his tounge clear of the taste with his napkin. He looked at it for a second and then went back to eating a little bit of everything; eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, spuds, tea...

"Don't eat the purple stuff- its prunes."

"Ok I guess, you?"

She looked down at her plate and turned her nose up at it. She despised prunes. They were so nasty

"Oh thanks.. Is it an early Christmas present?"

She wrinkled her nose as she dropped a napkin over it so she didn't have to look at it anymore.

With a full mouth he looked at the food he just spat up onto her plate. He nodded.

"Only the best for you."

He thought about the question. Horrible. He couldnt sleep, and all that was on his mind was Quidditch and the up comming House Cup agaisnt Slythrine. So Charlie lied-

"Fine i guess, same old same old."

"Thanks I feel so special. I'll have to be sure to get you something extra special."

She looked at him. She knew he wasn't telling the truth. He looked dead tired right now, and he was up and it wasn't even 8 o'clock yet. That was the signs of quidditch. She knew how it felt to obbsess with it so she understood what he was going through.

"That's good."

"Oh anything over 50 sickles will do the job..."

Charlie smiled at her. His own family wouldn't spend fifty-sickles on his own gift. But Charlie didn't care, it was just a posetion. Charlie pourd himself some outmeal and instead of eating it he just circled his spoon around in it thinking about Quidditch taking his mind away from his family's money problems. Quidditch could do that for him. Just take him away into a greater place and away from all his troubles.

"So how's Quidditch going for you? Sorry you didn't make it to the finnals. It sucks you lost to playing agaisnt us with Slythrine- and by two little points. Crappy situation."

She tensed hearing him ask about quidditch. Ever since her team had lost to Slytherin she hadn't talked about it. Everyone knew not to ask her about it, but apparently Charlie didn't. Shrugging as if she didn't care she replied,

"Yea.. It sucks... We were booted out by two points..."

She started to pick at the food on her plate as if deep in thought.

"Yeah-"

Charlie saw that it hurt her to talk about it so he let it go. He tried to think of something to break the awkeward silence between them. He picked up his spoon with oatmeal on it and flicked it at her hitting her in the cheek. Charlie laughed- he didn't know he had such great aim. He still laughed as he wiped a piece of it off her cheek with his finger and put it in his mouth. He smiled and nodded his hand-

"Needs sugar."

She jumped feeling oatmeal getting flung on her face.

"Hey-!"

She started laughing as she felt his finger wipe some of her face.

"Needs sugar? I'll give you some sugar."

Reaching across the table she grabbed the sugar container and then opened it and looked inside. There wasn't much. Shrugging she dumped it over his head and watched the sugar land on his head.

He knew it was comming sooner or later. And it was a fun way for him to get some fun into his life. He had been thinking about the Quidditch meet for the last month it seemed. He licked his lips where the sweet drops were at.

Charlie shook his head as sugar flung every where out of his hair and on her and on the food on his table and even the oatmeal in front of him. He put his spoon back in his oatmeal that now had sugar from his head and smiled as he taisted it.

"Better, needs some syrup- Here."

He reached for the syrup container and dumped it over her head as maple syrup dripped into her hair and over her face and on her clothes. She would never be able to get it out, syrup was the most stickyest shit ever. He smiled and took more off of her face with a finger and taisted it and smiled eating another bite of his oat meal.

"They have the best syrup here."

Charlie held the syrup container over his oatmeal as a little of it dropped into his bowl. He stired it and tasted it with a smile at her. She was still in shock. And Charlie liked that.

She gasped as he poured the sticky syrup over her head. No he did not just do that. her hair was matted down to her head and syrup was in her eyes. She wiped at them, when she finally got them cleared she glared at him and then bust out laughing.

"That wasn't very nice, ya know. And specially not since these were like my all-time favortie clothes."

Still shaking her head over the fact that he actually did that, and still slightly in shock, she picked up a piece of bread and wiped some syrup off her arm and then started eating it slowly.

"Hey I'm a human syrup bowl!"

"Yew, that's just sick and wrong-"

He smiled and grabbed his spoon and scraped some syrup off of her arm and mixed it with his own oatmeal and then took a bite and smiled. It tasted good. Who put syrup on toast though? That was wrong.

"Thats much better. Try it-"

He held out his own spoon of oatmeal for her with they syrup from her arm on it. He smiled at her and watched as more and more sryup stickly and thickly dripped off of her.

"Its good!"

She watched as he moved his spoon and scraped syrup off her arm. Toast and syrup was good, no matter what he said. Looking at the spoon he offered to her she leaned down and and took it in her mouth and swallowed the oatmeal. It had a weird taste, she wasn't used to it, but it didn't taste bad either.

"It's ok."

"Your a fruit cake. It's great."

Charlie finished off his own oatmeal and smiled at her pushing the bowl away. Charlie laughed again just looking at her. He had to look away to stop from laughing. He ran his hands through his own hair and scratched his neck trying to get all the sugar off. It was everywhere all over the table and Charlie was now seeing more early risers walk into the Great Hall and just stare at the two- more at Kelly than himself but still it was funny to see the look on there faces. He looked back at Kelly and held back laughter but not his smirk.

"So i can't wait to see you walk to your classes like that."

She laughed as she watched more people walk into the great hall and stare at her and Charlie -more at Keely herself than him, but oh well. She sighed and dropped her head to the table.

"I can't either. And guess what? I looked at the schedule today and guess who the Hufflepuffs are paired with all day except in Herbology?"

She smirked at him before standing up and starting to walk towards the doors of the great hall. She couldn't stand being stared at and this was no exception. Out in the entrance hall she continued on her way and walked outside into the morning air, sitting quietly on the steps.

Carlie felt full and fallowed her silently eating a brite red apple. He bit into and by the time he caught up with her on the steps he had finished it. It thre the core as far as he could and watched it barly roll up to the edge of the lake. Almost. He wiped the juice off of his face and smiled at her watching her. She was rather short for a seeker- or for a person in generall. Or maybe Charlie was just to tall. Oh well. He had watched her play and knew she had the skills. But sadley the rest of her team didn't have it to back up hers.

"Ravenclaw?"

She looked up at him and then pulled him down to sit next to her. She didn't feel right when people stood up and she was sitting.

"No not Ravenclaw! Gryffindor of course!"

She smiled innocently. She was going to have fun picking on him in classes today.

"Oh that's right- I knew that."

He smiled and licked his hand where she had pulled him down. She had left a sticky messy syrupy hand mark.

"They make the best syrup im telling you. If i knew better i would lick you clean right now!"

He smiled and made the motion with his tounge.

Laughing she smiled and looked over him.

"Too bad for you, isn't it?"

Grinning she swiped some syrup off her and onto her finger and then stuck it in her mouth sucking the syrup off.

"Your cruel. I hope you stick to somebody or something today."

He smiled and looked over the frosty grounds. Charlie could just imagine her running into somebody, a teacher hopefully, and getting stuck and making a giant mess. Charlie had thought about performing the cleaning spell on her- but it wouldn't be that much fun as watching her make a fool of herself.

She grinned widely and thought.

"I hope if I do stick to someone its a teracher! Professor Snape preferably. Then I can really show him what its like to be stuck with someone you hate."

She smiled at the thought. Ever since her first her professer Snape had hated her. She didn't know why and personally she didn't really care, but she did think it was unfair to judge someone that quickly just because they weren't sorted into Slytherin. Damn SLytherins. They ruine everything.

"Oh i think that would be more pain than pleasure."

Charlie shiverd at the thought of being around Snape all day. He was sure Snape would hate it just as much as Charlie but still- it wasn't worth the sacrifice to see him in pain.

"I think i would want to be stuck to a hot girl. That would be fun."

Charlie smiled at her jokeingly. It was wierd getting use along with an aoposing team player. Charlie ushually had a slight grudge with the others on Ravenclaw or Sltyrhrine. He was so good at what he did that people just naturally hated him for it. But charlie didnt care.

She would hate it as muchas snape. Probably more, but at least he would know how it feels to not be able to get away from someone you hate so so much.

"Mmm... I'd prefer a hot guy. Now that would be really fun."

He smiled and rolled his eyes at her. He fingered some more syruyp off of her arm and licked it and grinned at her.

"Seriousely you should clean up though- your not to hot any more now that your all... all... sticky. Not that i still don't want to lick it all off."
